Who are we?

COPE TRUST FRIENDS association is composed only by volunteers who dedicate part of their time and effort to the association´s activities.

We are registered in the General Office of Law and Juridical Entities in the Justice Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya with the number 28432/B, as a non profit organisation. Since our administration structure is so small –we don’t have employees or office, and the association telephone numbers and a postal address are those of some of the volunteer members- our administration and running expenses are almost none. This means that all the money raised reaches its destination, and it is directly managed by COPE TRUST for those projects considered as more urgent or of higher priority.

Though the association was founded at the end of the year 2003, the start of the project was in the summer of 1998, during the trip of Eduard Rosés through the south of India with some friends. In this trip, Eduard met Father Jesu and was very impressed by the project Father Jesu was starting: the construction of Nesa Karanal. Back in Barcelona, they kept in contact by post and e-mail, and from almost the first day, Father Jesu encouraged Eduard to get him support from Barcelona.

When Eduard finally decided to commit with the Nesa Karanjal project he searched for relatives and friends to help him. They created the association we are introducing here.
The first association meeting was attended only by the three members of the Board of Directors. However very soon they could count on some steady and devoted volunteers, some of whom have lately become board members.

Since the beginning, we have made moderate progress, but this doesn’t diminish our enthusiasm. We believe we can do much more to make Nesa Karangal bigger and more self sufficient.
