Projects

Periodical donations from our members are mainly used for the daily functioning of Nesa Karangal. Nevertheless, this is not the only project on at the moment, or in which members or collaborators can give us a hand. If you are interested, you can read about these projects in this page. We will very much appreciate your collaboration.

On-going projects

1. NESA KARANGAL children’s refuge for orphan and half-orphan boys and girls in the Manaparai Union region.

2. Half-fostering of boys and girls who, although living at home, their families cannot afford education and other costs.

3. Foster Parent, establishes a direct link between the foster parent and the fostered child and takes care of the maintenance cost of a boarding child in Nesa Karangal.

Intended Actions

1. Enlargement of the kitchen and ladies’ toilets in Nesa Karangal.

2. Increase the half-fostering network

3. After school tutoring for children from neighbour villages

4. Job training for young people and women who have no possibility of entering the education system, are unemployed or are working in precarious or very poor conditions.

5. Scholarships for high school students who wish to continue with higher education. There are already some students who have finished high school and are strongly motivated to begin higher education. Unfortunately financial means available at this moment are not enough to help them yet.

6. In the long term, building a school for the poor children in the area.
